Over the past few weeks and months we monitored the reaction to this legislation and since receiving request from our clients wanting to have the option to apply this 'if required' we set about producing a solution that will allow our clients to comply with the law.

As a number of clients were not convinced it was something they actually wanted to add to their site, we wanted to ensure our clients had the option to decide how they wished to address this issue. Therefore as part of our upgrade process we are adding in a couple of web parts that can be simply added to the site that will allow users to allow or deny cookies as they see fit. The web parts are available in two formats, simple and advanced.
The Simple
As it name suggests, this is the simplest and recommended web part to use. Simply add it to your website and when the user visits your site for the first time, they will be presented with a message

(Which our clients will be able to modify to suit) and a button to allow all cookies.
Once they have allowed all cookies, all future visits, assuming they do not clear the cookies, will no longer require the user to accept cookies.
The Advanced
The advanced web part is suggested to be used on a custom page on your site, advising how and where cookies are used within your site. This web part will allow users to select the type and level of cookies that they wish to accept when visiting your site.
Both of these options will be available to all our clients once our current upgrade is completed, but they will be in control of these options regardless of if they agree or disagree with the law.
